Default 2000 2.5RS gracing my driveway

My 92 Justy has new company on the driveway, a 2000 2.5RS sedan, silverthorne metallic, 24000kms, in completely stock condition. What a treat!

I rescued this car from an otherwise dull existence of daily commuting to and from work from allbeit an appreciative owner, but otherwise less 'spirited' with scooby enthusiasm than I.

To celebrate my first Saturday with the 2.5RS, I plan to take her (with the wife and kids) for a run out on highway 40, just west of Calgary in the foothills of the Rockies.

Will the smile on my face go away? Not anytime soon!!!

Congratulations on your purchase!!!!! You will not be disappointed

Since your car is stock, you will be able to modify it to your personal preference. If I may be so bold, I would recommend your first mod be a Whiteline Adjustable Rear Sway Bar. It was the first thing I did to my Sedan and I was amazed at how much difference it made to the car. I couldn't believe that the stock car actually had that much body roll.

You can purchase these from PDM Racing ==> Don Nimi has sold at lot of performance parts to just about everybody in this province with a Scoobie, and the best part is that he's in Canada so there's no duty on parts Don's also super reliable and an a knowledgable tuner. You can trust him completely.

Cheers,
MB

PS Welcome to your new obsession

Thanks for the upgrade tip. I'm going to take my time to get to know the characteristics of the car. But now that you mention it, there does seem to be more roll than I thought there should be in the corners.

After the sway bar what was next on your list?

Try a set of wheels and summer tires, keep the stock rims for winter tires. I got 17" Rota Attacks with Toyo T1S - the lightest setup for a reasonable price. Major improvement in cornering and braking. I can't get the ABS to kick in on pavement, even with upgraded WRX front brakes installed.

I was thinking of lowering it an inch or so as well. Exhaust too, I would prefer to hear a bit more growl over the stock muffler.

But I must admit that obtaining a ver5 front and back is high on my "do it for the looks" mod list.

Keenan, I checked out your website again, how loud is your brullen 2.25" exhaust? The 3" tip looks mighty impressive.

I have the quiet setup on my car. Its definitely louder than stock, mind you, most exhausts are ...

I wish I could describe it to you but its difficult to convey sound into words. If there is another meet anytime soon I would be more than happy to demo it.
