Default 05 sti suspension questions

Looking at picking up a set of coilovers for my sti and im unsure about the need for top hats? I think I understand the working order of top hats but im just not sure why I need/want to buy them as well when switching out the stock suspension to a coilover Pros/Cons would be great thanks everyone.

I'd bought new for the fronts and had group n for the rears. Piece at mind for me.

To get the more accurate feel and damping from the coilovers you'll need solid top hats, or atleast a set that's harder than stock (ie: Group N)
