2012 FXT

Default FXT '12 Trailer Hitch

Got a base quote from SubSuperstore for $400 not including install.

Uhaul says they will do it, installed includes everything (ball mount, ball, pin, wiring and installation for all of it) and all that jazz for $300 after taxes on a Class 3. We had Uhaul do the trailer hitch for our old Jeep, and they did a great job, good quality hitch and good install as well.

Anyone have any other suggestions for hitches for a 2012 FXT such as;
where to buy it
where to have it installed (not super interested in self install of either the actual trailer hitch mount nor the wiring)
a specific brand

Obviously, not towing anything huge: 14' alum john boat on a boat trailer of appropriate size for type/size of boat.

Ive had uhaul do it in the past and do a great job, but that wss in a 90s toyota. I may be more worried about those goons doing wiring in my new car. But in phx there are several trailer stores, and If it was a nice uhaul place, id prob go for it

Who knows

wiring on the subarus is a plug and play box. takes less than 2 mins to route the wires through the rubber groument in the bottom of the spare tire wheel. as installation of the hitches take about a hour. if that, I just built my own 2" hitch cause no one offers a class 3 for my year fxt. Granted i dont mind that kinda stuff as im a welder.

but i think 300 for everything is pretty dam good seeing the hitches alone go for 175$.
