Default GR to GD swap compatability

My thread in the 2.5 section got deleted so I will re-ask my question in here. Can anyone elaborate or point me to threads regarding swapping drivetrain and components from a GR to a GD chassis.

Like what?

Suspension wont be the same.
Engine differences are just the heads and ECU, so whats the point?

Not so much suspension but driveline. Mostly because I have seen some decent deals on salvaged '10/'11 STi's with extremely low miles pop up on copart. So wondering what would be needed to put a GR power train and driveline into a 02 GD. What wiring would need to be done etc. Curious if anyone has swapped parts onto GD chassis?

There is vely little experience with this, maybe only one or two guys have accomplished this and they usually post in this forum.
I'm hoping they will post more often and we get much more details.

-The biggest problem is electrical and it seems you need to swap the full wiring harness.
Previously however, to convert a GD EJ205 chassis to use with a GD EJ257 and to 32bit and throttle by wire, you would have had to swap a surprising ammount of wiring, to begin with. Even then, it was said that if you would have added just one more day to your work time, you had enough time to swap the whole harness of the EJ257 GDB.

The explanation (in case of the GRB) of this is that now not only you're dealing with a 32bit ECU, but also with the CAN data system.

Let's not forget that the EJ205 has no immobilizer, while the GRB EJ257 have probably a thir generation (advanced) immobilizer.
That means for sure you need the ignition switch and surround antenna, keys, immobilizer module (all matching), and now third generation additional things:
Maybe dealer has to put the ECU through a validation process?
Maybe now you need the cluster matching as well? with the GDB EJ257 you did not need it, at least till '06.

As a general idea, something like an Audi needs to have the software "validate" any major sensor/component replacement. You almost install a software driver for the sensor, when you replace it.
Does the GRB do this already? I don't know..

IIRC, there is also no speed sensor on the newer transmissions. The speed signals supposedly come from the wheel sensors (via the ABS/traction control ECU via the CANBUS), so you need to find out if the GD wheel sensors are compatible with the GR computers.
