My sound really bad the first time I use it in the morning (backing out of my driveway) and leaving work at 4:30. It does sound like is just not grabbing right. But after that, then is no problem all the way home. It just happends when I leave the car sitting for a long time. When I am on 2nd and 3rd at about 3000rpm it sounds like is just bogging also. weird.

Mine started to do the shudder last week and only when cold first thing in the morning.
Now I know I have some hp. Today driving hard along some back roads in 3rd 4th and 5th the dreaded slip started. Turned the boost down abit and seems ok now.

BTW "HOK" was right. He said when you get some real hp the clutch slips in 4th

So do we need a new clutch or put up with the shudder for awhile.

Oh yes...Mine started beginning of Feb of this year and i had Paul Swanson @ Rally Subaru to check it..
He said the same thing , cold weather does that and short story why Subaru make the clutch plate like that.
Under warranty, I had mine change before i moved to Houston , but now the RS is having the transplant to STI. Car should be ready next Friday. Hope everything will be ok.
We'll be back in E-town Sunday nite for a week...

See ya

Ah yes, the cluth shudder. A friend of mine, Chunky_Chicken as he's refered on i-club, went to the dealer for this problem. The dealer offered to replace the clutch to get rid of the shudder. The only catch was that the replacement was a "weaker" clutch. He decided to stick with the beefier stock clutch.

You'll get used to it. You just have to be gentle and let the clutch "fall", if you will, so that it doesn't get too much pressure.

Just of the things you have to put up with for having a cheap but fast car.
