Default 2013 XV Crosstrek Fuel Economy Ratings

The Fed's fuel economy ratings for the 2013 XV Crosstrek are now available. In the link below I also added 2013 Impreza 2.0L 5-door ratings for comparison.

Should have a diesel. Or at very least a 5 speed with a tall 5th. Or hell a 6 speed.

Disappointing the numbers are so different. I would've expected only a 1MPG decrease at most...

In practice, the Impreza does 28-29 MPG combined.
I presume the XV will also do ~ 2MPGs below EPA.

between what the xv and the imp? or the cvt and manual? there is a pretty significant aerodynamic difference between the xv and the imp. increase the height of a car and allows more air underneath the car, more wieght, and larger width tires all equal up to less fuel economy. I'm surprised it is not more. Hell, adding on cross bars and a yakima load warrior rack shot my 2012 cvt hatch mpg from 38 on the freeway at 60 mph to 31mpg at 60 mph. The difference between the cvt and the manual? not my department.

Bigger car? Other than ground clearance, the car is the same size.
