Default 02 wrx headlight plug/socket wiring help

Hey I have searched but unable to find anything.

I have bought some aftermarket headlight sockets that I need to splice into the oem harness. But the color of the wires are different than the oem headlight sockets, so my question is which wires need to be with each other?

Also, are butt connectors sufficient with this kind of job? And what is the proper gauge that the connector needs to be?

This is the oem socket (yellow with red wire, blue with yellow wire, and red wire)

This is the aftermarket socket

Position the two plugs together so they match up and look how the wires of both plugs line up with each other, left side, middle, and right side. That is how they need to be spliced into the wiring. It is a little hard to see but it looks like the blk, blu, yel wires will match up to the colors you stated in your post.

You can use butt splices but make sure each connection is crimped and taped up very well.
