Default Legacy First Car?

Turned 18 not too long ago, and am looking to get my first car! The car will mainly be used for commuting to my college (10 miles away). Orignally I wanted a 3.5 altima, maxima, v6 fusion, or a v6 accord. But today I saw a subaru legacy and I loved it. The interior on these cars seems top notch, and they look pretty nice too on the outside. But the one I found was an 08 with a regular 2.5i engine putting out 170 hp. When I read that these cars go 0-60 in 10 seconds i was quickly turned off. But then I noticed they have turbo versions and started to look for one in my price range but had trouble finding a decent one. Either they had too much miles, or too many owners in too short of a time period.

Should I still look into getting a 2.5gt? I was also wondering how the insurance would be on this turbo car? The car would be under my father and I would be a secondary driver.

Budget-15k (any other suggestions)???

15k is more than enough for a nice GT, look around and dont rush it. I got my 05 GT with 70k miles bone stock.. Im at 120k miles now stage 2 still on stock turbo i just kept up on everything (Timing belt, water pump etc etc..) Look on LegacyGT.com also always some nice cars for sale on there along with additional information about Legacys

2005 Legacy GT wagon

I purchased my 05 legacy gt (wagon 5spd) woth only 108000kms on it for 9800$. Original turbo and full synthetic service history, timing and such done. Keep an eye open and dont jump on the first one you see. Also keep keen eye on the service history and oil change history. If you are new to subarus definatly read up on the "banjo bolt curse" for the oil supply lines to the turbo. And if you purchase one make sure to check the banjo filter and replace or remove it (as i did, 15000km ago problem free). Well worth the purchase tho. I live embarassing mustangs, comaros and rich kids in thier beemers and porsche boxters with my responsible looking wagon! Happy hunting.
