Default RSport Rally / Knight Motorsports Inc. Enter Wild West ProRally

RSport Rally Press Release
Wild West ProRally

September 5, 2002

Knight Motorports Inc. driver Scott Trinder and co-driver Paul Westwick will be competing in the Wild West ProRally this weekend, driving an Open class Subaru Impreza 2.5RS Turbo.

RSport Rally driver Bob Trinder and co-driver Bill Westhead will also be competing in the event in a Production GT class Subaru Impreza 2.5RS.

The Wild West International Rally is part of the SCCA ProRally Championship. This year's event will take place out of Olympia, Washington on September 7-8, 2002. The event is expected to draw over 70 entries from around North America and the world.

"Wild West is our home event. Both my father and I are excited to have the opportunity to once again drive in the rally," says Scott.

Paul Westwick, organizer of the immensely popular Thunderbird Rally, brings a wealth of knowledge to the team. "I am thrilled to have Paul in the passenger seat because he is calm and accurate with instructions," says Scott.

"I was surprised to be offered the co-driver's seat by Scott. We have rallied together in the past and I look forward to riding in the Open class car prepared by Knight Motorsports," says Paul.

Bill Westhead brings many years of experience to the team, however Wild West will be his first time reading stage notes. "I am looking forward to trying the new stage note system as we have not yet adopted it here in Western Canada. I would also like to thank RSport Rally for inviting me to co-drive at this event," says Bill.

In 2001 Scott and Ian McCurdy finished the Wild West ProRally 10th overall in the RSport Rally (Production GT class) Subaru Impreza. Most recently, Bob Trinder, with co-driver Andy White, came first in Production GT class at the Northwest Region Dryad Quest ClubRally in June 2002.

Thumbs up

Best of luck guys. If Paul is anything like as good in the car as he is at organising the TBird then scott will have a great rally.

Good luck with the first running with notes, you'll learn fast.

Best of luck to Jamie and all the other I-Club crews too! The roads around Washington State are stunning rally roads, wish i was there competing myself.

Come on John,
Throw a roll cage, the other safety items, and a rally computer in the STI-RA V-Limited AABCDEFG and ship it over to the states and come play with us.
I think Jamie is going to be looking for some more power here in the future

If only it were that simple Ryan! I wouldnt use my current STi because thats too nice, but TypeRA's are there to be bought, i was offered a LHD STi6 TypeR for very little dosh not so long ago.

I would love to see Jamie in a good spec AWD car, she would give a lot of guys a fright.
