Default Eyesight "Safe Space"

I'm going to be mounting a small antenna for an alarm soon on my 2016 Subaru Impreza Hatchback with Eyesight. I've seen a few installs done and it looks like the factory antenna gets mounted in the upper left hand corner of the windshield.

I came across this TSB for older Subarus and was wondering if it is safe to mount the antenna behind the rearview mirror. According to this TSB, it looks like it's OK, but thought I would get other's opinions first.

Also, subquestion....does it matter if the antenna is horizontal or vertical?

TSB: 06-43-12

Thanks in advanced!

Based on the TSB, I would say the answer to your question is " no ", it's not safe to place it there without interfering with Eyesight.

As far as vertical or horizontal mounting, what does the manufacturer say?

We have a 2015 FXT w/Eyesight and the Subaru dealer installed remote-start antenna is mounted at the upper left corner (looking from inside) of the windshield.

I too would suggest not mounting anything above the rear-view mirror mount point or within a similar range to the left or right of the Eyesight cameras.

Thanks for the quick responses. I've seen pictures of the factory remote start antenna mounted in the upper left corner. I also found the installation manual for the factory remote starter, which they tell you to put it in the upper left.

The upper left hand corner it is!

Thank you!
