Default STI Rear seat removal question

Friend only has one key. hit the valet switch on his trunk by accident so he cant open trunk from release or with key. has to go through back seat now. has the back seat out, now there is a black plastic panel stopping him from getting back in there to release the trunk. how do you remove this?

Pretty sure you have to remove it from the trunk. If you punch it out though there's no real harm done as you will just have that panel missing. It is a thin honeycomb plastic panel and when I swapped rear seats in my wrx I left a hole behind the seat for that reason (and skiing). Replacements aren't expensive either if he must have trunk aesthetics in line.

Kick that s*** out.

You can't pull the release with some sort of stick and a flashlight by just going through the pass though (or with the seat out?)
Seems like you should be able to.

Anyways, I believe you can just peal up one side of the plastic without wrecking it. I haven't tried though. Good luck.

I've had to crawl in there many times for this same reason. I haven't done it for so long now but I could've sworn you could unbolt everything behind the seat and get in there.
