If you want to fight it in court you might be able to get away with it if it was hot outside. Reason being is that if the cop had his windows up and the air conditioning on, then the radar is not as accurate. I was told this by my boss who beat a speeding ticket about 2-3 years ago by this. I haven't tried it yet but hopefully it will work. If anyone else has information on this please let me know. The best bet is to talk to your lawyer though. He should know best in your area.

Question Speed traps: how can I get the latest speed zone survey ?

I got a speeding ticket on highway 89 while going from Tahoe City CA to Sqwaw valley. As the officer used radar, I'm looking for the latest speed zone survey of that area to see if I was caught in a speed trap or not.
Also do you know if speed can be checked by radar when no "speed checked by radar" signs are posted ?

Cops can always check speed with radar, its their job. I dont think they NEED to have signs out. the only place i've seen those signs are on a small highway that enters through a small town. they serve as deterents. I never see signs here in Austin (decently large city) yet I've gotten pulled over three times.

Those signs are kind of like having the=ose photo radar signs. they may be posted upto 10 miles from the actual photo radar, yet you slow down the entire ten miles.

Just my opinion.
