all great advise, Subie paint is easy to mar I would consider picking up one of these Metro Air Force Blasters.

Metro Air Force Master Blaster 4 hp
Metro Air Force Master Blaster 8 hp

Here is also a complete exterior kit great to start with DVD included.

Adam's Essentials Kit

When i got my WRX brand new I clayed the entire car, then put on a good coat of wax. I would have preferred a synthetic sealant but at the time I was out. I also took off the rims and cleaned/waxed them. I own a detailing company so i go into every detail usually. Good luck with keeping the car clean its quite a pain! Defiantly do a 2 bucket wash to prevent swirls from getting in the finish and NEVER go through a wash that has those bristles that spin around and touch your car they inflict swirls (usually) especially the gas station ones are never cleaned! In regard to subaru paint being easy to mar, It really is veryyyy thin all around, and is quite soft so be carful!
