Default Down pipe material

Is the stock down pipe on a 09 WRX made from mild steel?

I need to weld an o2 bung into it for a wideband and want to get the right metal so I don't have to go buy different rods or wire.

Thanks for the help!

Just wanted to make a suggestion. Use a metric jam nut for the bung. I'm not sure on the thread size and pitch but they are very cheap and easy to find compared to a bung. A jam nut is a nut trimmed down in height.
