Default Intermittent Grinding / Slow acceleration

Hello all,

Unsure what seems to be the issue here and was hoping maybe some of you might be able to share your expertise.

The other day when I was going from stop to start at a red-light (not even a very had accel), I had the car pop out of 1st gear. When i put it back in gear I heard a mild grinding noise and the car is very slow to accelerate. Ever since then it has been doing this intermittently, sometimes it shifts fine (granted im driving it gingerly now...) and other times there is a grinding noise/bogged down acceleration. Also sometimes revs really high with low speed, somewhat like a slipping clutch however I just had this replaced at 95k miles so I dont believe that is the issue.

I am driving a 2002 WRX with 130k miles. Stage 2 mods (cobb AP/exhaust) and a stage 2 clutch. Other than that no mods on the car.

I have been driving it for about 3-4 days since that happened and everytime it does this I am in fear my baby is about to die. Anyone got ideas? Is it time for a new transmission or is there something simpler/cheaper I could try first?

EDIT: Also forgot to add, I recently had the clutch changed/resurfaced. Does not seem to be a slipping clutch issue.
