I have white smoke.. and its deff oil, not coolant. so white smoke does not mean its coolant all the time. oil is puddled up a little in my exhaust tip. and burned oil to where it doesnt read on the dip stick anymore. its a built motor and Im pist turbo? havent checked it yet? rings haven't seat yet?

should I buy non degergent 40 weight and zinc additive and compression test it?

My BOV goes

I have a white (yes, white) oil (yes, oil smell) puff out of the exhaust every start after a few hours parked, don't notice any smoke while driving. I have forged pistons in my build and am also running the 11mm pump which is too much pressure at cold start. It is possible oil is passing through the turbo exhaust side seal (zero oil in intake tract anywhere) or a valve seal popped off with the dual valve springs (new oem seals, new supertech springs). It could also be ring break in with forged pistons, but I wouldn't expect it to do it at startup.

The oil level was a little high but it has dropped to just below the full mark over the past weeks so if that was the cause the mileage should burn any excess off very soon. I'm leaning more towards a turbo seal or valve stem seal leak though. Don't want to deal with either because the turbo rebuild will be expensive (vf22) and if the supertech springs are rubbing the valve seals off I will need to replace all valve seals with the supposedly smaller supertech seals (supertech told me the oems would work fine) or take the dual spring setup out and find another spring solution. :/

My 10mm pump will be here soon, I will update after replacing it. At least oil pressure levels will be back to normal after that. I'm running conventional 5w30 during the "break in" period and plan on going to synthetic after.

-oil level still good and still some smoke at startup, shouldn't still be doing it if its from overfilling
-still the same after a few days of normal oil level, most likely valve seals or turbo seal. I have a 10mm oil pump in the mail and will update after installing it but doubt it will help.
