I take these with a grain of salt seeing as motor trend has had a hard on for the vette since forever and tends to crap on anything not american when they do their comparison tests. Everyone else who does these will show different results including a faster 1/4 for the LFA vs the GTR and the Ferrari or McClaren leaving a "Z06" in the dust. Obviously a real Z06 doesn't cost over 100k and theirs has an option package. You cant do a comparison with cars using option packages vs cars that aren't. All it does is take any legitimacy away from the test.

If they really wanted to use option packages across the board then you would see much different results. This entire thing should have been done with the base cars with no special option for example using a regular Z06 and getting rid of the black edition GTR.

silliness, for a track test choose the car optioned for the track. it is a standard but expensive option that can be ticked at any Chevy dealer

The vette must have had the Z07 package. Why do I say this. Upon inspection of the times, in all situations the McLaren is a faster accelerating car, so the vette must have won on braking.. How is this possible you ask. Simple, tires.

the Z07 vette has R comp tires. But so does the McLaren...

Lets examine size...

Vette: F 285
McLaren: F 235

Vette: R 335
McLaren R 305

The vette must have won on the brakes, and powering out of corners with its massive tires giving it tons of grip.

Still for comparison, the top gear test track has the Mclaren 20+ spots ahead of the Z06

So go figure..
I don't know how much research is required to deduce that the slower car, with the larger, stickier tires (PSCs are faster than the corsas), probably made its gains between the starts and ends of the corners.

As much as I like the Boss, it really isn't in that stratum of cars.
