2010 5-door STI

Default headunit installation on 08-10 sti

looking for either a how to or someone's personal experience with the center peice removal for installing the headunit. im sure that i can get in there and figure it out on my own as i use to install stereo's for a living, but just trying to make it easier on myself. is there anything i should know? or is it pretty much staright forward? im installing the new pioneer avic double din gps unit with polk components. i just had some free time at work so i figured id ask on here. and of course i searched actually i searched on several forums. any info would be appreciated.

Grab it and pull! Very basic install. Deck can be done in under half an hour including all your prep time.

If you are pulling out the long trim strip that runs over the glove box, there are a couple of screws on the passenger side of the dashboard that you'll need to remove. They're on the end in the door jam underneath a trim panel that pops off.

Otherwise, yeah, it's pretty much a grab and pull exercise...

i watched this video:

i tried using my fingernails but that didn't work out too well so i used a gift/credit card and got it to slip under the top right corner. from there, work your way around and it pops right off.
