Default FL to NC transplant

So I'm planning to move from Florida where there are no emission tests to NC where there are. I see currently it's only 48 counties that require emissions testing. I can choose to live in a county that doesn't require the emission testing every year and all I'll have to do is pass safety. I've done my googling. I'm looking for a NC resident to confirm or deny my results. I'll fail the OBD test for sure (if I was tested for emissions, which I shouldn't be) But I should pass safety as I haven't done anything to compromise that stuff.
Mods are:
Intake w/box
Catless turbo back
TGVs
Etune and AP
RCE springs
Sways front and rear
Do I have this right or not? I'm planning on working in Raleigh so I'll live in a suburb nearby that doesn't have testing requirements.

"Emissions" testing is only OBD2 readiness testing here in NC. It's not a sniffer test. But the catless down pipe could fail you depending on the shop or how observant the tech is.

Be careful where you take the car for state inspection. Dudley Do-right has cost me big before with his shenanigans, I got hit for not having EGR's in a swapped GC8. Welcome to NC!

What year GC did you have? I think they are more strict if it's MY96+, which is why I went with a MY94 for my project car (which your old engine/trans will get into eventually)

FWIW I always take my car in for inspection first thing in the morning on a Saturday to a quick-lube place; the guys are basically still waking up and not quite as keen for the visual inspection.

they plug up obd2 and check readiness monitors. depending on the shop they may or may not do a visual under the car to look for cats. as long as your tune keeps your CEL off and your readiness monitors are clear, you'll pass.

It was a 95, which there was zero reason for them to open the hood for that inspection. You never know how the shop is going to proceed with their money making schemes I guess. The good news for OP is that swapping in a catted DP for an inspection is much cheaper than paying off another shop to take the risk on a problem like EGR's being missing. Yes, the shop put a note on my car's VIN in the NC system that there was no EGR and that the engine size did not match.

I suggest OP do some asking around before taking it in, things can be really easy, or really messy.
