Default Kinugawa & Kamak Turbo GB + Injector/Fuel Pumps & Brisk Racing Spark Plugs GB

We have been working hard to bring the NASIOC community new products, and we have locked down some special factory-direct pricing on Kinugawa and Kamak turbos.

About Kamak: Kamak is a Taiwan-based OE supplier of turbos for Hyundai, and others. They also have their own racing team and are a supplier of turbo parts for many USA-based hybrid turbo manufactures. Kamak is an established aftermarket turbo manufacturer in Australia, Korea, and Japan.

Standard Kamak Turbo Features:
- Kamak's STS nine-blade turbine wheel:
--- Spools 15% faster than the standard TD0X based journal bearing turbos
--- Better top-end flow
- Billet compressor wheel:
--- Flows 15% more than the cast wheels
--- CNC milled by Kamak
- Upgraded adjustable waste gate:
--- Extra springs tensions included
--- CNC-machined from 6061 aluminum alloy
- Complete install kit
--- Oil & water lines
--- Gaskets
- Turbine Housing Porting:
--- Available at a $75 upgrade
- Warranty
--- One-year no-questions-asked warranty against any defect

About Kinugawa: Kamak produces this line of turbos as their 'value' line, but don't let that fool you. They are built with the same quality, tolerances, attention to detail, and manufacturing equipment as the Kamak lineup; however, the main difference is that the newest highest performance features are debuted on Kamak models first. Still, Kinugawa turbos can be upgraded to billet compressors for $175 extra and upgraded STS turbines for also $225 extra.

Standard Kinugawa Turbo Features:
- Standard Mitsubishi or Greddy-style Compressor Wheel
--- Upgraded to billet for $175
- Standard Mitsubishi Style Turbines
- Waste Gate Actuator:
--- Comes with 1 bar spring
--- Other spring rates available at $10/spring each
--- Available springs rates: 2.0, 1.7, 1.5, 1.2, 1.0, 0.8, 0.5, and 0.3 bar
- Complete install kit
--- Oil & water lines
--- Gaskets
- Turbine Housing Porting:
--- Available at a $75 upgrade
- Warranty
--- One-year warranty against manufacture defect

Pricing: As soon as you pay, your order is placed for shipment. This pricing has been specifically designated for this launch. Pricing will go up in the future. Please see tables below for respective pricing and upgrade options.

Shipping: All turbos will ship directly from the manufacturer for $50.00. The average shipping time is two weeks; however, as they are being shipped across the border, occasionally there is a delay. Be prepared that it may take longer, however, the average is two weeks. If you are ordering a customized turbo (non-default) it may required demand-based production and require additional time to do so. Turbos will ship as they are ordered. Fuel injectors and pumps will ship as ordered as well, however, these will ship from inside the U.S.

Fuel Systems: Fuel pump and fuel injector group buy addon - $599.00 See below for more details.

Scroll down passed the Brisk Racing post for images and media regarding these turbos.

Twin-scroll versions also available: Pricing is an extra $35 over the base single scroll models, and most are upgradeable.

Turbine Housing Porting: Available for $75 for both Kamak and Kinugawa turbos.

Default Brisk Racing Spark Plugs

This is a continuation of our last successful GB for Brisk Racing Spark Plugs. http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=2459396

About Brisk: Brisk Racing is the official OE supplier of Prodrive Motorsports, and is partnered with several other notable industry names such as Lamborghini Marini, etc. I personally run the DR12YS in my 400+ whp WRX and recommend them to any customer.

Time for tune, have a pesky misfire you need to solve, or perhaps you have added a lot of power adding modifications and need some colder spark plugs? We are offering extra special pricing on Brisk Racing spark plugs as a continuation of our last GB.

What you get: This group buy is a set of 4 Brisk Racing spark plugs of your choosing for your Subaru per slot.

The Deal: We are giving special volume pricing group orders of at least 8 slots. Once we have 8 slots filled, we request payment in full, complete a stocking order, and one we get our stock from Brisk, we'll get your orders out to you in 2-3 days via priority mail.

For a set of 4 sparkplugs ...
*Recommended* Sliver Racing: MSRP $43.96, @8+ $38
Premium Racing: MSRP $54, @8+ $46
Iridium Racing: MSRP $59.96, @8+ $49
Turbo Racing: MSRP $135.96, @8+ $99

Express shipping is a flat $7.50 per customer.

11. Bradrcr
12. smadasam
13. Paul

----------- 8 sets required for the second order ----------

We have the DR and the ER series plugs available. DR is normally for the 2.0l WRX head, and ER is the 2.5l AVCS head. Temp 15 with a "Y" (projected tips) is OE style, 14 is one step colder, and 12 is two steps colder. It is up to you to verify what spark plug you need for your car.

Here is the entire catalog from Brisk for you to look at. It provides most of the information you are interested in.
  • Page 3 describes what the model numbers mean.
  • The very last page helps you map temp from Denso and NGK to corresponding Brisk temp range.

The stock fuel pump and injectors will have a hard time meeting the fueling needs of these bigger Kinugawa and Kamak turbos. We are offering a specially priced fuel system upgrade to the Kinugawa/Kamak group buy participants.

What you get:
- A set of 4 Injector Dynamics ID1000 1000cc top feeds
- Walbro 255lph fuel pump (wal gss342)
- Walbro fuel pump install kit (ex. wal 400-791).

The Deal: The price with turbo purchase is $599, or $625 without. It ships as soon as you pay from the US.

Prefer DeatschWerks fuel injectors and pumps, or want to add Perrin fuel rails? PM us with what you are specifically looking for, and we'll hook you up with great GB pricing.

Example Alt. Options:
- Injector Dynamics ID2000 2000cc top feeds +$375
- DeatschWerks 04-06 STi 1100cc Side Feed Injectors +$175

Interested, especially in the TD06SL2-20G. Any dyno comparisons of the Kamak vs equivalent Kinugawa version to demonstrate the value of the upgraded turbine & compressor wheels?

The STS billet compressor wheel flows about 20% more than the standard cast wheel. That will directly correlate to maximum HP output potential.

The STS turbine spoolers about 15% faster is lighter weight. This will impact how quickly you see your target boost, and how quickly the turbo responds off of boost. It will also flow more on the top-end. Kamak seemed most proud of their STS turbine technology. This will most impact daily drivability of your car.

It is possible to have both on the Kinugawa as upgrades (add extra custom build time and $300), or they are standard on the Kamak turbo along with other upgraded features. So the Kinugawa TD06SL2-20G turbo is $695 with the 2.4" inlet, or $730 with a 3" inlet. A fully upgraded Kinugawa would be $1030. The Kamak version would come in at $1199, so it isn't really that much more.

I think it comes down to how price sensitive your are. I you are on a tight budget, get the Kinugawa and maybe go with the billet compressor, but I would suggest Kamak for the higer performance if it fits your budget. Realistically the bang for the buck on the Kamak turbo will be better spending it on almost any other mod.

Now that we are established vendors with Kamak/Kinugawa, we can sell any of their products. I can order it for you at a discount, but it will get shipped from Taiwan.

Is this what you were looking for?

This is not to bash this thread, as I am likely to be one of the purchasers (and already own a Kinugawa 18G), just some general frustration with turbo marketing in general.

More PR material, but closer to what I was looking for in terms of comparing the two turbos: STS turbine technology Based off Kamak's dyno plot, the STS turbine + billet compressor appears to behave a lot like the other XTs -trading off low end spool for increased top end. The provided dyno the PR shows a torque peak near 4500rpm on a 2.5L, but in fairness the dyno data doesn't start until just before 3500rpm. The dyno in post #4 looks better but is on e85. On the other hand, the rest of the data supports that the STS wheels spools faster than the TD06SL2.

So does the Kamak actually spool faster and make more power than the Kinugawa equivalent? Hard to tell from even from Kamak's own PR - there is not much useful data to make comparisons.

PMed you,

Could we do a hybrid? Like STS wheel in a Kinugawa? Basically, looking at something along TD06SL2 60-1 10cm twinscroll with the STS billet wheel...the next option i saw in their website would be TD06SL2 20G 10 cm but i am not sure what difference would it be in terms of spool and performance. Hence, i am electing to go bigger and asking if building STS wheel in a Kinugawa is even possible, pm and we shall discuss.

Yes, we can offer the twin scroll version turbos or anything else from Kinugawa. The Subaru twin scroll turbos start at +$35 of the base price.

From my reading, the 20g will spool considerably faster than the 60-1, but the 60-1 will make a little bit more top end. Most people seemed to think the 60-1's small edge on top end wasn't worth the loss of spool-up.

Now, the 20g can upgrade to the billet wheel, but the 60-1 cannot. With the upgraded wheel, the 20g should out flow the 60-1 and spool significantly faster.

I asked this question a couple days ago through PM. After the upgraded wheels and actuator, you're almost up to the Kamak equivalent price. With the better warranty that comes with the Kamak, you're probably better off going with the Kamak.

I contacted Kamak about the Kinugawa waste gate, and this was their response:

"Kinugawa comes with the adjustable actuator. It's a black finish"

and

"- 1.0 bar, 1.2 bar, 1.5bar actuator available, please contact us if you need different actuator.
- 1.0bar actuator will go with turbo if buyer doesn’t contact us before we send the turbo."

And you can get extra springs weights for $10 each.
