Default no clutch pressure! help!!!

I have no clutch peddle ... I've bleed, I've pulled engine to replace throw out barring and pressure plate and retaining ring clip thing on pressure plate. I've reinstalled and and bleed again.. to my eye the fork looks like its installed correctly.. I've bleed again but still no returning clutch peddle still!! I need help lol thanks!

Probably a slave. Do you get any pressure when you pump it? And how are you bleeding it?

I am getting pressure on the peddle when I press down but I have to help it on the way up.. I'm bleeding it the traditioal way with two people and pumping x20 and hold while my helper relieves the pressure and tightens quickly.. I bought a vacuum pump from AutoZone but I couldn't figure out how to use it lol. It could be the slave drive?? it was hesitating slightly pressing on the fork. I do have the spring installed too

when the slave goes bad, you will notice it will leak where the piston comes out. you can have one of a few issues. Clutch bleeding takes a while without vacuum. like i think i took me 4 hours. it helps to tie a string to the clutch pedal to pull it back up. now, things to check first

Grab your clutch fork, and try to push it with your hand, if it doesnt move, or moves very little, you likely installed it correctly

Where the clutch pedal pushes the hydraulic rod into the master (under the dash) if its damp, or looks like its covered in grease, its leaking, and it is bad.

check the line between the master, and the slave for any type of moisture or leaks.

check the piston on the slave cylinder. 9/10 times, they have a slight dampness, if its in excess at all, its likely bad.


Are you getting fluid to come out of the slave?


BTW you dont need to pump 20 times, try this

1) clutch pedal up, bleeder closed.

2) clutch pedal down

3) open bleeder

4) close bleeder

5) pull clutch pedal up

6) Repeat.

do this until you get fluid coming out of the slave.

at this point, you should have pedal pressure.

if not, check to see if the slave is pushing on the clutch fork.

Also as for the vacuum pump, youll want to put the hose on the bleeder screw, and open it, if its a Pull out syringe style, just pull it out, and then close the bleeder, close the pump, open bleeder, pull the pump...repeat until you see fluid

if its the hand pump style put the hose on, open the bleeder, pump it until you see fluid, close it.

you still need to follow a vacuum bleed with traditional bleeding more than half the time, i always do, just to be sure i got all the air.

are you getting fluid out of the bleeder screw? if yes

Is it leaking where the piston comes out of the slave, and pushes on the clutch fork?

Okay so I check the slave and it has a little fluid coming out of the boot area.. ****y! Lol thanks for your help everyone! and ill use that pump method instead

sorry i was at the gym, im sure your a bit frustrated. the bleeding process can take hours, but if theres fluid on the base of the slave its more than likely bad. they arent very expensive last i checked, so replace it and try again. post results up here when your done. and as for the bleeding... there a cheater way to bleed if you want it, ive used it a few times. you can take a piece of small diameter, clear rubber hose, and put it on the bleeder, i would suggest you have this hose about... 5 feet long. open the bleeder, and suck on the hose like a straw. when the hose has about 2 feet of fluid in it, have a buddy close the bleeder, and at this point, your clutch should be bled. its not exactly the best method, but it works. and it beats the hell out of pumping the clutch for hours. bled my hondas clutch this way, it took 5 minutes.

So I just installed the new slave cylinder and copper washers. I check for leaks there was non. Bleed the system again. I pulled the fork and re stuck it. It looks like the tob is engaging. Once its all installed the fork barely moves. I STILL have no return peddle?? I can't figure it out!

Also the slave doesn't move all the way out?? When I engage the peddle.. does that have something to do with it?

Okay so my friend fixed it by prying the fork back torwards the firewall with a screwdriver. Right after that I have clutch peddle!! Whoooooo!!
