Default NY Inspection Help

Happy New Years everyone

I found out that, as of Jan 1, you will no longer be able to pass inspection having tints. I know there is a legal limit of 70%(which nobody gets on their cars).

I was just about to throw tints on tomorrow but don't wanna bother unless I have a "guy", and maybe someone on here does... (pm me)

I call 3 random shops around in NYC and all confirmed that there will be new machines that will measure % of tints for you to pass. Even though you can probably just measure any window with a legal % and say its yours.

I'll look it up but wonder how this applies to SUVs or wagons....

It's just a handheld "reader" which they put on the window and check percentage. Basically goes along with the safety inspection. If you know someone; it should be cake as they only plug in the obd2 cable and just let the computer pass it. (They don't inspect the car)
