it's it great!? I loved it. Hopefully I'll get my RS back today and I'll get a chance to talk to the salesman at my dealership when I pick up the RS. So what color, options, and pricing did Burt come up with for you?

It is definitely smooth with acceleration. You have to watch the speedo to realise how quick it moves.

With me following PunkRS and only shifting my car at about 5,500 rpm (at 6.5 psi boost) his WRX in front of me couldn't pull away, but I wasn't gaining on him either. By third gear I was pulling him in and I had to back off so I wouldn't hit him...

However low end torque under 3,000 rpm is gone in the WRX. He couldn't pull up the 6% grade hill to my house in his car at 2,200 to 2,300 rpm in 4th - but when we changed cars we found we can lug my car down to 1,600 rpm at 25mph up the 6% grade hill and see it accelerate...

Overall a nice car, better than a stock RS, and I am looking forward to an STI version in 2-3 years.

Fortunately, I wasn't hassled at all by any of the sales ppl. They were more interested of my feedback from the test drive more than anything else. I spent a fair amount of time educating a couple of the sales ppl on STI and what they do, as well as aftermarket stuff (that JC intake is a pretty good indicator).

Now that I think about it, that was the first time I spent a looong period of time with car salesmen, and pricing or money never came up in the conversation(s). Of course, I had the "I'm gonna get this thing" look all over my face. So it probably didn't matter.

Lets just put it this way, there's noway anybody that is not employed by Subaru, is going to get this below MSRP. Thankfully, the sales guys at Burt aren't like BMW/Audi sales ppl and add significant dealer markups, at least not yet.

Talking Another WRX Advertisement (Are you tired of these yet?)

The only bad thing about this car is staying at the posted 25-30mph speed limits around Burt Subaru. It ssoooooo smooth when accelerating above 3k, it is very deceptive. If any of you have driven/riden in Dave's Wagon recently, the acceleration is just as deceptive as his. It has a slight understeer that can easily be thrown into oversteer with a little pursuation of the throttle. I don't see the need to really modify this car as much as the RS, but thats just me.

One of the sales guys were with me (new guy), I don't even want to know how fast I took a this corner, and I wasn't even pushing it, just getting a feel for it Had him grab on to anything he could get his hands on, poor guy.

I talked to the sales manager at Burt, Jim. He's going to attend some track event Subaru is holding for local dealers, Subaru is bringing some people from the UK for this. Anyway, I really, really, really stressed to him to ask about the STI tuned version when he goes there. He was really open to any questions or suggestions I had. All I could say is ask about the STI, I was in a daze still after the test drive.

I'm sooo buying this car...
