NC: SOLD!! - 2002 WRX, fully built 2.5L STi engine, 58k miles, super clean - $13500
The car is Sold, thanks to all for the compliments and interest!
Up for sale is my 02 WRX with built 2.5L STi engine and manual transmission. It's been a fun project, and I'll be sad to see her go. Countless hours, a ridiculous amount of money, lots of bloody knuckles, and more than a few tears have been put into this car to get it where it is today. She only has 58,xxx original miles on the clock which is extremely low and rare for a bugeye! Engine, mission, clutch, and turbo all have ~7500 miles on them and have been broken in per engine builder / manufacturer specs. The car was professionally tuned by one of the best Subaru tuners in the country, Doug at TopSpeed Motorsports, for both e85 and 93 octane. With an extremely conservative tune, it made 400whp at only 21psi on e85. I had Doug tune the car very conservatively for safely running at track days, but I never did end up hitting the track with it. The car was mainly used for putting around town and the occasional commute to and from work, and has always been pampered and stored inside a garage. I can count the number of times on one hand it's been driven in salty road conditions, and has mainly been driven in the spring/summer/early fall. Condition: The interior and exterior are very clean, and you could seriously eat out of the engine bay. The car has a few minor blemishes here and there but nothing abnormal for an 02, and nothing 99% of the population would probably notice. I'm extremely anal retentive about my vehicles, so am very picky and take care of them meticulously..... One thing I didn't have a chance to touch up was inherited from the first owner - the rear bumper cover could stand to be repainted. It's purely cosmetic and is actually not too noticeable so it dropped low on my priority list. The previous owner informed me that the rear bumper had kissed a snow bank in an unfortunate scenario where his zeal overcame his skill level :lol Background: The car was bought from another nasioc.com member as a rolling shell back in July '09. He had bought the vehicle brand new and was the first owner. He had the car sitting in his garage ready to put an engine in, but lost interest in the project and let the car sit for about 3-4 years. I picked up the shell and many boxes of parts then proceeded to put everything back together again. Additionally, I ended up going overboard with shiny new aftermarket parts during the build..... as you'll notice from the modification list. With the exception of the short/long block build done by Rallispec, I did all other work by myself. No corners were cut and no expense was spared on this project. I'm an automotive engineer by trade and have been a gearhead for even longer, so you'll not be disappointed with the quality of this build or the minty fresh condition of the car. I can guarantee you that. This is the 3rd time I've reworked and installed a 2.5L engine into one of my bugeye wrx's, so I'm getting very good at it My previous 2.5L bugeye project was sold to Squadom on these forums, so you can hit him up if you'd like a reference. Reason for selling: I'm ready to move onto new projects and it's a good time to transition. The car has been sorted out, meticulously reworked, and is running flawlessly. I'm getting older and feel the need for an old man car now.... so am ready to move onto an e60 M5. No joyrides will be given. Please don't expect to show up on my doorstep to drive the car, without a wad of cash in your hand. If you don't like the price, my choice of mods, think my driving skills stink, have comments about my mom, or have any other unnecessary comments, please move on and do post here. Thanks for looking!

Added the dyno plot. The car had the 2.5" Prodrive oval tip axle back installed when dynoed, which caused the hp to dip above 6750rpm. It was a long drive and I needed something quiet lol!
After the dyno session I installed a 3" Cobb axle back and the hp dip was eliminated. Run 16 = e85 @ 21psi Run 10 = 93 octane @ 18psi Some interior shots, sorry for the poor quality I'm a bad photographer: Last edited by tundra; 07-15-2014 at 10:42 PM. |

I can definitely vouch for the work that @tundra; does. The car I purchased from him was very clean and problem free. He doesn't cut corners and you can tell when you go through the car. A couple of my local shops had even commented that it was one of the cleanest bug-eyes that they had seen.
Good luck selling. This thing shouldn't last long. If I were in the market I'd be seriously interested. Sent from my iPhone using NASIOC |

Interest in your vehicle
Hey tundra!
I was wondering if it has any tune for 91 octane or if you can get one on it. I live where 93 octane is scarce and I like your car and am looking into coming to get it If possible. Cheers,! |

Thanks for the kind words Squadom, I appreciate that Sir!
dpsogod: The car is only tuned for e85 and 93. 91 octane would require a retune, which I will not be doing any time soon. Sorry bro I have to apologize guys, I'm on a business trip this week and have been completely slammed. There are several pm's, emails, etc queued up waiting for my response. I'll do my best to respond in a timely manner, and will start sometime tomorrow morning. Hopefully by tomorrow evening I should be caught up again. |

Well Guys, thanks again for the tremendous response to the ad. It's nice to hear the good comments, makes me happy that other people appreciate the work that went into the car.
The car is currently pending sale. I will definitely let you know if things do not work out with the first buyer. Kind Regards, Matt |
