Default 550 1/4mile times

Alright here is my setup, it's no dragster, it's a daily driver.

93 ej20g with stock td05 turbo. Rob's 550 tune with a catless 3in downpipe/midpipe and a 2.5 in sleeper axelback. Invidia uppipe around 18-20 psi depending on the weather. 4.11 5 spd 96 sti gearbox on some 17in chineese tires that allow a wheelspin with the lunch control setted at 5500rpm. the ecu runs at 16 iam and I gas on 94 octane. I ran on different days , I get a lot of 13ish but 12.940 is my wall. I run the stock intake, i have better performances with it, otherwise it gets hot air from the engine bay, and I have the stock little intercooler. Have a cx-racing fmic on the shelve but it's too big, I will need a bumper lip to hide it and I just did'nt installed it yet...

I would like to hear about your setups and advices to get some lower 12's. 12.5 would be great.

here is the time slip

Full weight car with AC PS power accessories full interior etc? That's about what they run. I had mine out last night. We only have 1/8 mile where I live now. Went an 8.36

Years ago when mine was super light it went 12.6 110 mph in the 1/4 with 8.1 in the 1/8. It's stock weight plus some now. I put everything back in the car.

You are pretty much maxed out on a full weight GC with EJ20G and stock MAF.

Unfortunately not a whole lot more without a standalone or risking blowing up the engine. You probably make about the same whp as me, mine is 290. I don't recommend pushing a stock engine with stock rods over 300, it's asking for trouble, the rod bolts are a weak link. At 20 psi you are maxed out on the MAF sensor too. Enjoy it for what it is. It's good power for a light car on the street and very reliable at this level. Maybe try to run it again late fall in cooler air and watch you barometer before you decide to head to the track. Good conditions can net 2-3 tenths gain at this level.

how about just stickier tires instead of the chinese crap? also what kind of suspension are you running? That plays a role also.

His 60 foot time is not that bad at 1.83

The best I have ever done with the same setup is 1.79

A small amount of wheelspin can actually help keep from bogging.

My 60' times were the same with the original 95 Impreza stock used up struts worn out everything and with my new KYB AGX, prodrive springs, big swaybars, poly bushings, every brace you can buy etc. Didn't make any difference at all in times.

Yes, I need that little wheelspin, they glue the track, and its hard to launch correctly, I even inflate tires to 40psi!
