Talking BMW 740 iL vs. Me and mine.

On a semi-busy freeway a 740iL thought he'd show his presence. With his 4300-lb (not incluing a full 25 gallon tank), 282hp automatic, I guess he did his best. But it's no match for a WRX, especially when dropped into 3rd. Getting a bit frustrated, he puts on a reckless display. Squeezing between the bumpers of other cars, just to catch me a pull ahead. Maybe he as upset at paying nearly tripple for his car. I don't know. But, when guys start to get dangerous like that, I leave them alone. I made go faster than the outer traffic and change lanes often, but crossing solid lines, going on shoulders, and spooking innocent drivers is not my style. I may upset so drivers, but not spook them.

Agreed. My goal is to drive as quickly as I can without endangering fellow drivers who are only trying to get from place to place. I never tailgate and only drive like a crazed idiot on semi-deserted roads with good visibility (i.e. no blind turns where cars might be ahead). I can't imagine how I'd feel if I ended up hurting someone through my own poor judgement. Letting someone win shows that you're the better man (or woman) and courteous to others on the road.

I believe it's best to use the Subie's speed and handling to get yourself OUT of situations like that, not put yourself (or others) at risk by getting into them.
