![]() Hi everyone! Welcome to the product development thread for the WRX. In here, I will update you as we fabricate some of the basic bolt ons for the car. We will be starting with the cat back first, followed by the J-pipe, mid pipe, and then intake. Yes, there are already a few great options, from a lot of great companies. But we feel more options can't hurt! All our products are made of USA made Rath Gibson 304 stainless steel, and hand fabricated in house. Our goal is to bring exceptional quality for the price, excellent fitment, and ease of installation. I will post final production pics and info once they are complete in the first couple of spots, but the rest of this thread will be dedicated to the build process!

![]() Here we have the beginnings of our cat back. First, we built an adapter to allow our V-band connection to bolt onto the stock mid pipe. This will allow customers to use our exhaust on a stock car, or with other aftermarket stock location mid pipes. If the customer ends up running our J-pipe/mid pipe, it will be connected directly with a V-band.
![]() Resonator in place ![]() These are the tips we will most likely go with ![]() |

![]() how do you plan to differentiate from the other 33 intakes, 48 catbacks, and 20 j-pipes on the market?

![]() That's a good question. I have nothing to hide when it comes to this. It's obvious that there is only so much you can do to an exhaust/intake design on these cars, that hasn't been done already. Like I said earlier, we provide in house made parts, made from USA materials, backed with a lifetime warranty, great fitment, and amazing customer service. Again, it's just another option. I wouldn't question someone looking to open a restaurant, even thought there are thousands of burger joints, thousands of Italian places, and millions of bars in every city of every state.

![]() As someone new to the Subaru platform, I appreciate the vision of MAPerformance. From what I see, is a full suite of products with the supporting tunes to match.
I also see excellent customer service from them. When I feel like kicking my drivetrain warranty to the curb, I will likely go with MAPerformance. Brian |

![]() Awesome news Ian, I look forward to seeing the progress! To steal a saying from the Dub forums, Do Werk
![]() @_brian_ Good question, but personally I think competition is a good thing regardless of how many other offerings are out there. |

![]() That is kind of what we are after. We will be using more of a mini muffler on our set up. Tips are 3.5" each.
![]() As far as cost goes, I can't compete with Invidia prices, as our stuff is not made over seas. We make everything in house. I understand that this does increase cost, but it's what we believe in. Trust me, we aren't after to rip anyone off, but we do have to pay for our fabricators talent and time. [quote=shamrock 05;43966097]Yesssssssss, we already have enough quiet catbacks out on the marked. So try and get a "straight through small" muffler........and PLEASE come with a price thats not insane like the others out there (think invidia N1)......think sales volume (making money wise and selling more) vs selling 4 and trying to make a profit from those. We dont need another $1000+ catback. If your catback has a nice mean sound to it and is priced next to the Invidia N1, you'll definitely have my interest MAP What size are those twin tips? And be different and maybe torch the stainless steel tips so they have a Ti color to them..... |

![]() We build our products here in house, in America. We choose not to use over seas manufacturing, with Chinese materials like other "under $1000" exhausts. Instead, we take our time, and strive for quality that we can stand behind.

![]() Looks good but one suggestion would be to have an option for offset tips. The outside tips stick out a little too far for my liking.

![]() N1 is a single tip each side that looks like a civic exhaust. I'll pass. I personally appreciate the look of a twin tip dual exhaust set-up. The reason N1 is so cheap is because of the cheap mufflers with single tips. The dual tips run ~$150 for the pair which is more than both N1 mufflers I bet.
Also, I don't think people realize the overall expense in just raw materials alone for these systems... ![]() I think a way to reduce cost is to sleeve your own tips. This way you can stagger them to the bumper appropriately so they don't stick out on the ends and so you don't have to tuck the insides to accommodate either ![]() |
