based on Baltimore to RI, I wonder. Doesn't matter, S of NE has 128 inbound, and my dealer has 3. But not mine.

Where in CT are you? I'm in Manchester.

Also placed an order for a set of Enkei Raijin wheels to swap onto the car for the summer. They should be here next week.
Then why do you need to go to the DMV?

The dealership needs to go to the DMV. If the DMV is closed on Monday, they cannot go to the DMV. Seems pretty straightforward to me.

My sales person told me my STI arrival is July, pushed from end of August! I have no VIN yet.

I assuming you're not dropping the car?
The wheels I'm considering are 18x8 with a 45mm offset. The guys at TireRack said the stock tires, 245/40, will fit and this setup should work perfectly in the car.

My understanding is that the stock tire on the narrower rim will have sidewalks that "bulge" out a little further and that the 10mm less offset and 1/2" narrower wheel will result in the outside of the wheel being the same as stock with less wheel width in the wheel well.

Is that right?

WRX is at the dealer. Going to do the paperwork tonight, then new car tomorrow. Hooray!

Edit: Only potential boo is that they forecast hail tonight. I told them to garage my car in their service bay. I don't want a dented car.

I thought you meant you personally had to go to the DMV for something, didn't realize you just meant the dealership did. Nvm.

I bought from that same dealer and a month later still did not receive my plates...sales transaction went very smooth but if I were you I would either have them follow you to Danbury which is the closest DMV or leave with all the needed paper work and handle the registration yourself.

Really? From Ramsey?
Why didn't they follow through getting you the plates? There's gotta be some guarantee or clause about them having to do this for you if that's the agreement no?

I'd do anything to avoid going to the DMV so any chance they can do this for me would be great...
Besides, I will have temp plates in the meantime so it's not like I can't drive the car or anything.

All I know was my tag expired and I called up DMV and thank goodness I dealt with someone my sister had gone to school with and she dug through lots of envelopes until she came across mine..She had me call her when I arrived at Wethersfield DMV and she personally carried the package down stairs and I took care of the registration..If she had not done that for me it would have been several more days until she would have gotten to my paper work and about another week on top of that until Ramsey would have mailed it to me..Avoid the bs and have them have someone follow you to Danbury.

Oh so it may not have been the dealer's fault, just the DMV? Like the dealer went there as they promised but then the DMV just took forever to go further?
That sucks but it also sounds like a hassle to have a person follow you to the DMV too?? I dont know....

How far is the Danbury DMV from Ramsey? I went to school near there and used to work near there as well so I am familiar with most of the town (Danbury).

Actually the dealer was dragging its heals getting the paperwork out their door...wasn't dmv's fault at all..Once DMV gets the package they have it done pretty quickly but have to mail it back to the dealer. I won't make that mistake again, maybe you will have better luck. Danbury is less than an hour from Ramsey..After I arrived at DMV I was out the door in less than 1/2 hour. Either way good luck.

Ok cool, thanks for the advice.

One other question - what experience/info might you have with Ramsey's detailing/cleaning department? I realize they have (I think) a "newer" detailing center, according to their website. Would you recommend letting them do whatever detailing/cleaning they normally do on a new car once it's delivered before pick-up, or would you recommend avoiding having them do it like a lot of people recommend for new cars from the dealer?
I def don't want scratches or swirl marks on a brand new car before I even get it.

Thanks.

I had them leave all the plastic on and detailed it myself when I got the car back to Ct.

Ok, Im thinking I better do that too. I already requested no additional holes in the bumper (although I dont think they would have) and no dealer stickers or anything. Wish I mentioned the cleaning/detailing too but Ill have to email them again.

They had no problem with any of those kinds of requests right?

Thanks!

Are there no turn signal markers on the rear view mirrors for the limited model? I'm in the US so I'm not sure if NE is different?

No, they're part of the optional Eyesight package.

That sucks. It's not clear on the Subaru site. It says it is an option but I thought that was the navi option on both the manual and CVT. It looks like it's standard on the STi
