Default 2001 STB mass air flow problem

Hey my car has the EJ205 in it and it recently started misfiring and running rich. Car came up with a mass air flow code when hooked up to computer so I tired cleaning old sensor and clearing the computer and then tried two new sensors after that didn't work (only thing was that the old sensor was four point for the wire harness and the new ones I tried putting in were 5 point but were supposed to be universal). Anyways, wondering if it needs to be a four point sensor or do you think it could be something else? Anybody have this problem?

I would think that it has to be the same four point sensor that you pulled out, where did you get the 5 point?

hmm never heard of a universal MAF, I would agree with Chamberlin that the harness probably wont fit. also the MAF is all about calibration, if its not calibrated to the computer, it probably wont work correctly

got one of the five point sensors from a supplier in Halifax and one from the internet. I'm in Canada and I imported the car in from japan. So I guess over in japan they have four points and here the mass air sensor has five. I found a guy who has a four point one from a WRX he rebuilt but he said that I should get a smoke test done to find out if there is a leak because it would throw the same code and run poorly. Anyways, had the car looked at and they didn't find a leak but didn't have a proper smoke test done.
