Default Car looks boring

Recently bought this, painted the spoiler, fuel door, rims, review mirror backs. But that’s all, looking for something I can do to make it a little more flashy

I think the back of these cars looks great as is, maybe just fix the faded headlights?

I wouldn’t do anything else personally.

Could this car ever become a head turner or is it too generic?

A different set of wheels along with some WRX or STI bits might spice up the car a bit.

Its a boring, commuter car. Looks worse with a mismatched gas door and spoiler. Why wouldn't you want those paintmatched? They look primered and unfinished.

Why not spend money on fixing the dents in the rear quarter panel.

WRX hood swap will make it "look" more flashy.

Definitely a new set of wheels. I got some Legacy Gt multispokes for my 98 OBS, and it made a world of difference.

Default Mudflaps

I’d recommend a set of mud flaps to improve that rally look you have going. I have really armors on my WRX hatch and they look great. If you don’t want to spend the $150 you can make some your self.
Hope this helped!

First things first, get an idea of what you want your car to look like if you had immediate and unlimited funds. Then scale that down to something you can make doable with your actual funds and time and ability.

Personally, i would get that dent pulled before I bought another can of spray paint. Then anything else that needs maintenance consider an upgradable route. Coilovers could give a lower more aggressive stance, with performance. You have a 10 year old-dented-economy winter car. Be real about how flashy and attention seeking you want the car to be vs the practicality of your purchase.

If you are ready to dump more than spray can money into the car, maybe consider wrx body parts, ive seen some base models with wrx hoods/spoilers/ side skirts that would fool anyone

Maybe start with mudflaps and a front lip and stick on 3m side skirts.. maybe try vinyl on the tails or headlights

definitely start by polishing the headlamps and fog lights. Not only will it help you see better at night but it will make the car look "new" again. I like the mirror backs and spoiler but not so much on the gas lid, and you could have achieved a gloss painted look with vinyl wrap and a hair dryer without painting anything. As for making it look spruced up, you can get fairly cheap front lips and look for WRX skirts and/or rear bumper. No need for the hood scoop. If you like the look, yellow vinyl on the fog lights or a slight tint on the tail lights but i don't recommend anything on the headlamps.

Hella horns are also a fun upgrade that look decent.

Rims

*also if you are itching to do something to the car, it wouldn't be a bad idea to poke around the motor and swap out old or busted lines/hoses/belts, swap fluids, general tune up maintenance.

Good luck!

This is the cold hard truth. Save your money and appreciate the practicality of the car. Clean it. Wax it. Drive it. Polish the headlights and pull your dents.

I'm not trying to be a dick, but you're making the car look worse and dropping the resale value in the process. Using a rattle can on your body panels is a terrible idea. At the very least, don't do anything you can't undo.

I’d recommend a few things but this is entirely personal preference. Mudflaps on an Imp can be pretty hit and miss - some just look downright stupid and others kill it. If you decide to do mudflaps, maybe think about lifting the car a little bit. It doesn’t look cool when they’re dragging on the ground.

Like many have already suggested, ditch the stock rims. A hood scoop could also be a nice addition.

Maybe look into new headlights? I don’t know if they make any for this year - but the C-lights or “Evo Eye” headlights could definitely spice your car up. Another headlight idea: angel eye or halo headlights.

I like the roof rack on her, I've got an 08 sedan WRX. One thing that is relatively cheap that made a pretty big difference on mine was the weathertech window deflectors. Those with the roof rack might finish off the top section nicely.

These aren't meant to be showstoppers, though mine has definitely grown on me as I've gotten older. I don't really want to be driving to the office with a super loud widebody stiff car. That being said you can still take pride in how it looks, and a clean car always looks good.

I agree new headlights would make a big change, and honestly just cleaning yours as they are now would help a ton. They're nice lights. Not a fan of the mismatched gas door and lip, but to each their own I mean it is your car. Like others have said, get an idea in your head of what you want it to look like and go for it.

Mud flaps? Maybe new bumpers if you want to spend the money on that

Repaint the gas lid to match the body color, looks like....well let's just say it doesn't look good.

Mudflaps (if done right) will look good, maybe different rim and a lift kit.

Would also get the dent pulled and do something with the cloudy headlights.

WRX hood/hood scoop might be ok as well.

What do you use for headlight polish? Never even thought to do this.
