Default *Updated* Fitment confirmed - Kartboy shifter KB-001-LEG works on a '16 base 2.0i MT

-Looking at getting a short shifter for my 2016 2.0i impreza.

I have searched all over am finding ambiguous answers about Kartboy shifters that work for 2015 & 2016 imprezas (& crosstreks, which should be the same..)

Some sites list the KB-001-LEG shifter will work for 2015 & 2016 crosstreks - ( and thereby assuming imprezas);
while others say that there is a difference with the MT shifter going from 2014 to 2015, so it doesn't work-

-just seeing if anyone on here has put a KB-001-LEG on and used it with no issues....

I am just not a fan of the COBB shifter, and the TWM shifters are no longer available, (and I gather they kind of sucked), and I'm not a fan of the Perrin short shifter adapter thing..

I sent an e-mail to Kartboy also, waiting to hear back.

Thanks

My understanding is because we are working with a cable shift, kartboy's short shift levers will not work. Kartboy has part that changes the pivot and reduces the shift throws. I have one but have not installed it yet. My impreza is the sport model so it came with a factory short shift but it still has a far throw. As for the shifter height, I think only a smaller, lower knob is something worth looking at. KB has those too. https://www.kartboy.com/collections/...-arm-w-bearing

...yeah; update to this post- tom replied to my email, and we agreed that the KB-001-LEG will work.

Just got done installing it, (along with my old kartboy front and rear shifter bushings from my old RS)- omg its nice to have this feeling in shifter again after losing my RS. It actually makes this boring car a little more exciting....

peaty, idk how it is on other years and WRX's and STi's, but this is a base 2016 2.0i, the shifter is the same rod linkage style i've seen on all the older style imprezas, there's no cable. (old school style - I have often wondered how this came about, actually; like did they have a bunch of old leftover MT linkages, and say "ahh, lets throw these in some base models for the next year or so, till we get rid of them...") -i digress..

that was kind of the reason for my original question, because there's not much info/support for GJ 2.0i shifter setups, you kind of have to figure it out yourself and piece stuff together. All the aftermarket parts sites, (even Kartboy's) don't list parts specifically for 2.0i's, but will list ones under Crosstreks for instance that are the same thing, and will work.
