Talking Best Year for VA Models

So recently I have been looking into VA Models (Turbo WRXs and STis) and I am wondering what year do you all think is the best between this chassis despite the small changes?

I plan on getting a WRX as a daily but with the current price for these models it doesnt seem like I will be able to afford one ATM (Yes I know they are going to go up). Saw a STi at my local subaru dealership asking 50K for a 2021 with 7K miles.

It Better

Prices for used cars are already starting to drop. Just wait. Your best bet is to buy the newest car you can find and always get a pre purchase inspection from a subaru specialist. Not a dealer, a specialist.

WRX-specific: Avoid the 2015 and 2016 model years if you can. Some MY2015 cars had a recall as the stock tune had issues and they needed to re-flash those cars. MY2015 and some MY2016 (depending on production date) also had poor welds for the pitch stop which caused a lot of them to just completely shear off.

2017 and later model years had most major issues sorted out and will boil down to if you like the pre-facelift or post-facelift bumper better. Most people like the 2018+ front end more but it's all personal preference. The 2018+ models did also receive some small upgrades as far as the interior goes, such as the MFD gauge hood being leather (as opposed to plastic for 2015-2017).

2018 Type RA

The 2015 - 2017 STi have quicker 0-60 / 1/4 mile times than 2018 - 2021. This was due to the diff change in 2018 (or was it 2017?).
Along with suspension and cosmetic change/additions, 2018 Type RA had a slight HP bump to 310 which was then carried on thru 2021 in all STi engines (except S209).
2019 S209 has Many changes to this car, do some searching/reading.
Various special editions over the years, Launch Edition, Hyper Blue, Series Gray, Series White. Anniversary Edition. I believe all but the Series White were just special colors with black wheels. Series white had bilstein suspension, bronze bbs wheels, and michelin tires.
I would guess the limited and special editions will fetch a bit more than a "regular" STI of that year.
this should be right, but feel free to correct me if I am wrong on any of this...
