Default intermittent tire pressure light

The light isn't on currently, but a few days a month it turns on. It will blink a few times, then steady for a while, then at some point shuts off.

My best hypothesis is that it's because of the heat. (As it only started doing it during the summer)

The tires are 35psi. I have filled them. There is no issue with the tire pressure.

Is this sort of a normal quirk with this car? Or is there something wrong with one of the sensors?

Is this your 2011?
Does the car do lots of short trips?
Did you check your spare tire pressure?

What I'm getting at is, when you start a trip, the system pings the tires a bunch. After a bit, they only ping the tires now and then. Each ping uses some sensor battery power. Lots of short trips means a lot of time doing lots of pings.
Sensors are now about 13 years old, so are batteries.
Most can have the battery replaced, but tire has to come off.

Of course, they'd design them like that.

And yes, it is my 2011, but not sure what constitutes a short trip? It's mostly city driving, if gauged by the mpg's. Mostly drive about 15-45 minutes are so.

Well, city driving would fall under short trips. Thus, little time/miles in intermittant pinging, still in constant pinging.

If you plan on either replacing tires soon or installing snows, have the TPMS sensors checked (tell the shop ahead of time so they know what is coming).
Most tire shops can also scan each wheel, looking for the one with issues.

I think I can confirm that it's a temperature issue. Since the light has not come on since the temperature dipped below 60f.

other thread about same issue: https://forums.nasioc.com/forums/sho....php?t=2956219

Interesting, usually a temp issue is the tire pressure is low (tire light comes on) until tire gets warm (ambient temp goes up or driving generates tire heating) which raises tire pressure (about 1psi/10*F) causing the tire light to go off.

You're indicating the opposite.
