Default STi seats

Doesn't look very supportive.... from the brochure scans...
Also, I wish the tire is 235 like the Evos...

Not like this is gonna stop me from buying one....

Yeah, it does look like the WRX and STI seats are the same with the only difference being the upholstery. The whole idea of stock Recaros like on the UK/JDM versions is sweet but no big deal considering how our car is spec'ed. Besides you could always swap for UK/JDM Recaros or even a set of aftermarket Momo or Sparco seats if that's your thing. It's not a terribly expensive thing to do and it has almost no effect on your warranty.

As for the tire size, I think SOA has been very deliberate with their Tire/Suspension/Steering selections. They botched the handeling once already, this face lift is as much about getting the handeling back as anything IMHO. I'm sure we'll all be quite happy with the results.

yea, as i just posted on another post on this forum, they look just like a redone version of out current seats with a molded in head rest. If you compare them to our seats, the width and bolster hights look identical to our current seat design. They also look larger and boxier in design compared to the previous STi seats.

the STi seats in europe/japan don't have side impact airbags, or mickey d's enlarged posteriors to acommodate.

still, a 'normal' seat option a la the SRT-4 would have been a nice idea.

The WRX seats may be my favorite part of my WRX.

I would be extremely happy if the STi seats were the same (except molded in headrest and different fabric).

Along this same line, I wonder if they added more leg room for the '04's. I am 6'3 and my knees hit the steering wheel. I had the seat all the way back, and it still was not far enought. Someone did mention that there is a height adjustment that may help, but I doubt that would help that much. Longer rails? There won't be any back seat passengers anyway, so no worrys there. Comments?

I am 6'3" with extremely long legs (even for 6'3") and I have absolutely no problems with the WRX. I have the steering wheel full high and the seat just about as low as it can go and I have plenty of room for my knees.
So much better than an integra, which I can barely drive
