Question Is home made CAI STS legal?

Seems to me there's a line in the rule book about commonly produced parts so I'm wondering if I buy a K&N cone filter or a PRM inline air filter and then build an intake from whatever tubing I can get, does that make it legal or not?

Any alternate air intake is legal, so yes a homemade one is okay.
