Should you talk to your dealer? Do you mean now for a purchase in december? I would say why waste your time now. Call about 3 months prior to when you are going to purchase. I would imagine by december the hype would've died down a little and you will get a clearer picture as to how long it would take to get your STi. The dealer would have no info for you now, they don't even know when and how many sti's they are going to get. Maybe you'll be lucky and they will have them sitting on the lots, after the initial rush.(or not) Sorta like when the wrx first came out. I'll be getting mine in late fall early winter as well.

I spoke with a dealer that did well with WRX sales and, as a result, should be getting enough STi's to satisfy demand in their area. At any rate, they suggested that I wait until June or so to place an order for August delivery, so I would think that three months would be enough lead time.

As soon as the price releases... I would find a large volume dealer
to put on the waiting list... explain to them the time you intend
to purchase though....

You really dont want to wait until december... Take the Mini S...
it's been out for a year already (??)... if you want one now... you'll
probably still have to wait for another 10 months..
(unless, of course, you're willing to pay for the $$$$ mark up)

i put down a deposit 2 weeks ago for an arrival in november. the reason is because i want to put 15grand down so the interest wont bite my arse, i made caculations and november seemed like the perfect date for me, so i told my dealer that and he said it would not be a problem,
i say just go to your dealer now, who knows how many people are on the list
