Default Power Steering. Help

Hey, sorry for the cross post, but apparently no one visits the Service and Maintenance Forum.

My power steering has been acting up a lot lately and last night I discovered that it only happens when the car is at idle. There is about 90 degrees or so to either side of dead center of useable turning radius and then the steering slowly locks up. The farther you attempt to turn in the more difficult it becomes until it is almost impossible to budge the steering wheel at all. However, the second you tap the gas and get it up to about 1000/1500rpm the tension immediatly vanishes. Does anyone have any ideas as to what could be causing this? I did run a search and came up with nothing. Thanks

It's your power steering pump. It most likely burned out by having the steering wheel locked either left or right for an extended period of time... Bring it in to the dealer if you are still under warranty and they will probably be able to fix it the same day you bring it in. Good luck.
