You people are just making all of this up to defame Vivid and their quality products.
I use Vivid Racing all the time for parts and they've never done me wrong, not once. and they have excellent customer service too. Oh wait, that was Newegg. Sorry, carry on. |

T68, While you are right that a box has two sides that open... the parts only stack correctly one way in the box. Vivid would have needed superninja packing guys to get the stuff in there if the side with the vivid stuff was on top. Oh and funny that as I opened it all the stickers, manuals, etc were face up. Don't mind me but in all the time I've shipped stuff I don't think there has been a time where a tightly packed box from me had all the propaganda n stuff upside down. Its either how ever it gets tossed in or all face up. Since the box was very carefuly packed I'll assume someone was anal about the facing of the printed materials.

What Vivid doesn't want you to know.
Yes, I did have a personal experience with Vivid. Yes, I do have it well-documented. And no, I won't share it here, except to say that it did involve numerous non-compliances to the regulations linked above. |

T68 - I understand your loyalty, but you're fighting a losing battle. There is no way you can deny that Vivid has done some very questionable things to online customers, and that's what this thread is about. If you clear out all the "bandwagoning" as you call it, you still have years of stories against Vivid.
I myself have never had a "bad" experience with Vivid, because I can call them up, see if they have what I want, and then drive there to pick it up all in a half an hour. Makes it easy. Now, does that mean I have no right to post in this thread? I think not. You posted several things that I would like to respond to. As far as your comment about drop shipping being considered "in stock," that couldn't be farther from the truth. I know that a lot of vendors carry less inventory than Vivid, and rely heavily on drop shipping to take care of their customers, buy I've never had a vendor promise me something was in stock unless it was, in fact, right there. I'll give you an example of how it should be done, using a much more thorough vendor from this site: I order a TurboXS exhaust, upipe and several other things from a vendor up in Seattle online. Nothing on the site about anything being in-stock. I recieve a phone call within one hour from the owner of the company explaining that TurboXS is out of catpipes, and offering me the catless version at a substantial discount. I choose to wait for the catted version of the exhaust and recieve weekly updates as to the status of my order. I finally recieve the exhaust after about a month, at which point my CC is charged. This is how it's done. Customers will understand waiting - it's an inconvenience that everybody has to put up with at one time or another. In the above example, I would have happily waited for months for my exhaust. It's communication and honesty that's the key here, and that's what has been Vivid's problem. If any of the posters here had called Vivid and they had been completely straightforward about the status of the order (or, in a perfect world, Vivid called the customer), then 90% of the complaints you're calling BS would never have happenned. In the end, it's the difference between getting good business practices and crappy service. I deal with a lot of suppliers in the automotive industry through my job, and I can tell you very plainly that we would not continue to do business with a vendor that acted the way Vivid has. I'm glad they've been successful. they build some really cool cars and have always been perfectly friendly to me at shows, tracks and when I'm picking stuff up. They do, however, have some questionable practices and I would never buy from them online. |

What I don't understand about T68 is his reasoning for defending them. What does he gain from it? All he had to say is Vivid did me well and I never had problems. Instead he is going into a little internet fight for a company that gives him nothing in return. What people do sometimes boogles my mind.
Oh and Vivid sucks the big one. |

One more thing look at http://www.vividracingsucks.com/ and just read how this guy talks to someone. He is above being immature he is freaking straight up stupid. That is NOT how you handle something like that.

XT6Wagon's story is true. I bought the fmic off of him and it definitly wasn't a TXS, it was the unpolished Hyperflow. (XT6Wagon told me the whole deal up front, just wanted to verify his story.)

The Karma God strikes again
That's karma for ya. You take a dump on your potential customers, you will eventually get poo-poo'ed on. Glad to see Someone (even if it was a dog) can rain on their get rich quick scheme! I remember when they first opened, I didn't like the vibe I got from them so I took my buisness else where. I guess when mommy & daddy can give you loads of $$ to start a buisness you don't really have to treat you customers good.

Vividracing Hung Up On Me 6 Times
So I placed an order with them over a week ago, and they told me they couldn't ship because I listed the wrong address for my CC (they don't ship to P.O. Boxes so I gave them my home address whoops). I then gave them the right address (my P.O.) and waited for a reply. Now its the end of the week so I call, and it took three people to figure out who I was. Then they said you have to call and change your address with the bank which I did, and they said they would email me when the order was processed. This all makes no sense to me because I have purchased stuff from them with this very card before. Another day goes by, and still no word. So I call again, and they say my card was denied this time. My bank had allocated funds when they originally ran the card so now it showed that I didn't have enough funds. I call my bank and straighten it out again, and they tell me again they will email with confirmation. Again no word from them for a day and a half. Here's the kicker I call tonight, and they put me on hold for five minutes (I'm persistent) then instead of picking up they just hang up on me. It was blatant. So I call back the phone hangs up on me, over and over and over five or six times. I get to the computer, and I have an email saying my bank told them I hadn't changed my address.(this is probably just a line of crap.) The point is they could have picked up the phone, and said that. I was never once rude to them. I used a civil tone, and I jumped through every hoop they asked me to. All I got in reply after over a week of trying to get my order was hung up on. These guys are ********, and I hope that there new shop burns to the ground with them in it.

I'm sick of seeing these jerks cars in magazines then. We work hard every day just to slap a couple more parts on our cars, and keep our wife and kids fed. (in that order) And then these big name guys just trash us. Its so much worse for us in Alaska too, because we get the typical (Idiot alaskan) treatment. There are lots of sick cars up here, and tuners who know what they are doing, but nobody gets respect from these parts distribution places. I hope they monitor this board, and others because I will never stop flaming them as long as I live.
