Post Way to kill aftermarket CAI???

I was looking under the hood today just doing some slight mods and got me thinking.

I thinks it is possible to make a Cold Air Intake out of some PVC pipe and a cone K&N air filter. I haven;t done this yet but will probably check over the weekend or sometime real soon.

Also would you be able to leave the original airbox and just hook up some PVC from the box to the inside of the Fender?

Just thought I would post this and see if anyone has ever done this before.

One thing you have to careful of: PVC stands for poly-vinyl-chloride. Although it is very chemical resistant it lets off small amt's of chlorine gas when heated. (A study was done by the local university linking some sicknesses to chlorine poisoning.) You definitely don't want ANY chlorine gas getting mixed into the combustion. It does work but be sure to sheild the PVC from any heat.

also, most pipes used on intakes are heat resistant, cause you want cold air, i don't think pvc will retain that quality
