Default any suggestions on a new exhaust

Looking for a new exhaust on my '02 impreza RS. Better performance and better sound, but not to extreme.

I also have a 2002 RS and have actually ordered the Cobb catback exhaust (www.cobbtuning.com). There aren't too many choices out there for 2002/2003 RSs because GC8 and WRX exhausts are not direct fits for 2002/2003 RSs. The Cobb exhaust is very similar to the Stromung exhaust, which will also fit our cars. If you go with the Stromung, just make sure you get the stainless steel one. You can find the Stromung at Teague's Auto, and they may still have a free shipping deal going on right now. Word of advice, I just upgraded my rear sway bar to 17mm (the bar that comes stock on WRX wagons) and my car handles way better! The RSs stock bar is 13mm. Definitely look into upgrading the sway bar if you haven't done so already. BTW, you'd probably get more responses if you post in the NA board.

mugsy - We've got cat-back & header-back systems for the MY02-up Impreza RS as well.
Our systems are made of 16 gauge fully mandrel bent T304SS piping. You choose your own tip styles -> single 3.5", 4", dual 3", 3.5". You choose your own acoustic preference -> quiet/medium/loud. You choose your own piping diameter (2.25", 2.5" or 3". note that 2.25" is the suggested size for N/A use, unless you're building a wild N/A car then 2.5"; 3" sizes are for our RS-T systems). Our systems also comes with a limited lifetime warranty against manufacture's defects.

Feel free to contact us for more info -> [email protected]

I have the Brullen Headers with 2.25" pipe and 4" tips on my 99 RS. I love it, I give it 2 big thumbs up.

arrrgg. i just started a thread on this 2 days ago and the consensus was that any GC RS exhaust will fit a 2002+ RS w/ the exception of 1 hanger. i guess they're not direct fits, but i had the notion that they'd be pretty easy to install.

Actually the consensus was correct. It is just the middle hanger that should be turned. I'm running a pre-2002 RS exhaust just fine have not turned the hanger, I've tracked it, AutoXed it, and daily driven it without the exhaust breaking anything or falling off. The two main hangers are pretty sturdy.
