Question Floor Jack?

I ordered a set of takeoffs (wheels) and tires for my 2003 WRX Wagon.

Can I jack the car up, using a floor jack, under the factory jack points?

Thanks

The safest way is to jack up the car from the rear differential and front crossmember and use jackstands at the jackpoints to hold the car. Jackstands are cheap and really a wise investment - you can buy 2 and do the fronts then the rears, or buy 4 and jack the front and rear at the same time. Having 4 makes it easy to rotate your tires too.

That is why there are jack points.

My floor jack and the jack points are not totally compatible. The ridge along the jack point doesn't have a good place to land on the jack "lifter part thingy." I use a scrap of strong oak in between. My usual 2x4s were cracking and creaking.

Be careful, you can dent the underbody if you jack at the jack point only using the outside edge. Get a 2x4 and cut a slot in it, VOILA a non scratching universal jack adapter!
