Default Question about 99' RS

I am getting ready to purchase a 1999 2.5RS from a local dealer and well my question is should I?? My friend says I shouldnt because of the fact that its DOHC and he told me that the DOHC models suffered "Piston Slap" and that its not worth buying. IS this true or do I really have nothing to worrie about? The car has 42000 Miles on it and the dealer wants 135000.

Please help. Also I will be purchasing the Subaru exteneded warrentany. So my next question is: After I buy the car and the warreanty can I take it into dealer and have a complete overhaul and have every problem fixed under warrenty?

I thought all 99 RS's are SOHC.

Hope the warrenty doesn't cost that much . I would assume you mean $13,500. The 99 is a great car if your going to keep it stock. CAI's are a pain but the CR is lower for a turbo IIRC.

The 99's are less prone to throwing CEL's if you do plan on modding it. The ECU isn't as picky as the 00-01 RS's.

Yes, it is SOHC. Make shure it had the MAF sensor recall done if it qualifies. The dealer can check that.

Have fun!
