Smile Stereo Housing Removal

You cab remove the dual-DIN box the holds the stereo equipment in the center console in about 7 minutes. The hardest part is pulling it out, the screws on the sides want to catch on the upholstery in the center console.

I did it last night to get at a loose screw.

Tools needed: A phillips screwdriver and a small putty knife.

A fellow had replaced his stock unit with something else. He posted that anyone who wanted them for the price of postage could have them. He quoted 10 bucks for postage. I hopped on it like white on rice! He had snipped the antenna leads, but, with my meager, but working knowledge of electronics, I can easily replace those. Of course, I was thrilled!

Thumbs up

That's great to know! The lights in my radio are kind of "glitching" and my CD player skips far more than it should. I bought a spare set (Tuner and CD Player) and am going to have them serviced to "like new" before replacing my current units with them. If it costs me 50 - 75, even a hundred bucks to have the things cleaned, realigned, etc. I'll still be way ahead of the game. I bought the two pieces for 10 bucks
