Default no more fugly a-pillar antenna! Dakota Digital ANT1000 electronic AM/FM antenna

Had to try one of these just for the heck of it to see
how it works... i bought mine directly from

price: $69.99 + shipping.

This device eliminates the need for pulling up the UGLY
a-pillar antenna on your WRX/RS. The ANT1000 plugs right
into your stereo (Im using an Alpine HU) antenna harness
and needs a simple 12v power source. It is about a size
of a bubble gum pack and has an attractive DAKOTA DIGITAL
logo on the black housing.

I just used the antenna 12v power output from the Alpine.
I believe there is a antenna 12v output power on the factory
HU even though our cars do not have an extending power
antenna. i can't remember the pin number...please search
if you need that info.

I mounted the ANT1000 on the dash right next to
the VIN number plate near the front winshield.

Results: I haven't been able to take it outside yet, but
even in the garage im getting pretty good reception.

I would rate this device 5 stars for idea, The price could be a little lower in the $49.99
range, but i'll take it.

Finally was able to take my wrx out for a spin. first min, i noticed
static in my FM signals so i pulled over into a parking lot,
tore the mounting tape and mounted it on another location.

After a few trial and error, the antenna seemed to work
best at the top of the winshield...so fed the cord through
the driver side a-pillar and walla.

If you are a very descrete FM listener this antenna is not
for you. 95% of the time, the reception is very clear, but
depending on where you are you some times get little
to moderate amount of audible static. Its okay for me

Id say this product performance is 3.5 stars out of 5.
