Default Borla Headers question

A friend just bought an '01 Outback Limited Sedan.

1. Will the Borla Headers fit?
2. Will they bolt up to the rest of a stock exhaust?
3. How much power would he make using just the headers?
4. How much power with headers + Cobb Tunings catback?

I have a '00 Outback and put the Borla headers on several months ago. Factory headers had developed a crack/leak, so I made the upgrade instead of spending money on the same crappy factory part.

No problems with fitting up to the stock cat/exhaust system. I would recommend replacing the exhaust gaskets when you do the swap though. Took me about 2 hours for the whole swap, getting out tools/ramps, and putting everything up.

I did remove some of the bolts on the heat shielding on the cat section to make it easier to get to the header to cat bolts.
A breaker bar for those stubborn bolts saved my butt, anti-seize when putting them back on is recommended in my book.

The tone of the engine is much better at around 4-5k rpm, really brings out the boxer sound. I can feel a little difference in the car after the install, most notably on high end now.

drop me an email if you have any other questions,
