Eh, I'm just giving you a hard time. While its not my favorite look for the car, it ain't my car, so what I and others think shouldn't matter to you.

But its smart of you to be prepared for some flaming...

Actually, it's more subtle than the stock wing, and it's an STI part, so in my book its all good.

That trunk lid looks like it just got detached from the matrix, though . . .

The idea here is to use the CF wing at the track and then take it off for around town driving right?

If I took the wing off, I would have the two supports left in place, the black boots are secured to the trunk with subaru super double sided tape...they are not coming off. But I must say the engineering that went into those little pieces of rubber is pretty good, they have weep holes and everything.

One thing I noticed about that wing once I put it is the STi logo that is in the carbon fiber...it is on the bottom, and I could not get a picture of it...but it looks pretty cool.

Love the front...not crazy about the back. I've been looking at the same front end parts as well as the rear pieces....where did you end up getting them?

Very nice looking....

It looks like your car does not have the HID's? Is it a Canadian spec?

Default Close, but no cigar...

I've been wanting to replace the front grille with one that just does not have the Subie emblem in the middle. I can't seem to find one like this anywhere.

The one you have installed has side divisions that weren't there on the stock piece, and the mesh is up front instead of recessed.

I could cut the logo out of mine, but then I'd have to spend a lot of time filing and sanding that bottom section where the vertical support is.

Do any of you know of such a grille (same as stock but no logo)?

I would love to see what people define rice as...I have seen rice and to me that is not rice, I dont feel it necessary to get into the big rice debate, but it would seem that by some people any mod you do is considered rice. But I guess since I bought everything in Japan, its all rice...who knows...

Funny enough, I think I like the CF wing better than the stock... more subtle (if that applies here. )

How can you tell?
Afaik, the my2004 STi's HID uses a reflector housing like the rest of the impreza line with halogen bulbs. The only difference is in the facets of the reflector (each designed specificaly for the right light source). Unless put side by side, I don't think it's possible to tell the difference.

Back to the wing topic, I wonder which is more effective, the STi CF wing or the STi standard (wrc-look) wing. Or perhaps Subaru just designed both for aesthetic reasons. It would be interesting to see a wind tunnel result on both, much like a post by [email protected] (iirc) on the oem wrx wing vs wingless vs prodrive option last year.

The STi CF wing does have two positions...in the photos it is the "high down force" position.

I'm not really partial to the sedan at all, so I say go with whatever you want on the truck lid.

So, when is the wagon coming?

Hyper Rev's magazine shows that grille as one of the available Subaru options in Japan.

Unfortunately, you can always count on Pre-diddy (who doesn't even have one) or Glenn to @#$k-up your thread when it comes to making the slightest cosmetic change to an STi. [with Glenn being less intrusive and more mature]

I'm not too wild on that spoiler, but at least it looks better than the stock one. I'm intested to see how these plugs will look.

Curious though. Why didn't you just swap lids with a WRX before you put the new wing on? At least then you wouldn't have had to worry about the holes.

Yo! I just realized that there is more to your appearence package than just the spoiler. How about a wide angle shot of the whole car?

Any Subaru dealership in Japan has a parts catalog for tons of options we just don't get here. Problem is, they won't ship overseas.

What you can try to do is find someone from the boards that is overseas or going over, have them get the stuff from the catalog then ship it over.

*How* you get them to do this is up to you...trust on the net isn't huge. Also, last time I was in Japan and shipped stuff over here, it was pretty expensive and slow, but since it was OEM stuff I though it was worth it.

Or, there may be US Importers for the stuff. Try a Google for it.

Japan Parts.com sells all of that stuff.

I did not want to swap out a lid because I want the ability to switch back if I so choose...Plus the original spolier will look good in my office as a book shelf.

Wide angle picture coming....
