Post Water pump/Timing belts

Has anyone changed there own water pump on the SVX. The dealer wants almost $800 to do it. The parts with gaskets and timing belts are under $200. I have worked on a lot of cars in the past, but this one always has a twist. If someone else has done this let me know if its something that can be done over a weekend.
P.S. The WRX is looking better and better every day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Never changed my own water pump, but it appears that on the SVX it is a good idea costwise to change it at the same time as the timing belt. If you change your blet, and then 15K miles later have to change your pump, U R gonna be 1 unhappy camper.

I checked out the WRX. I was not impressed. Nothing wrong with it, but after always eating at Spagos, In-N-Out no longer cuts it.

Comparing the WRX to the SVX is a bit like comparing a MR-2 to a Supra, or Bowie knife to a Claymore.

I am still trying to figure out if I want to change it my self or if I am going to pay to have it done.
The SVX is in a class of its own, but I can't buy a new one. I have a 2001 RS and we love it. When I drive the RS then get into the SVX you can really tell the differnce in the two. The WRX would be fun because I could get the wagon ( 90lb dog) and still have the power that the RS is missing. I don't want to get ride of the SVX but if I do I want to stay with Subaru. when they make the M3 AWD I will think about buying one of them.
Thanks for the reply.
