Default Pros and Cons

Besides HP (would also like to know that), why did you decide to do JDM WRX vs USDM WRX?

yes i have the cluster and milage is 59000. I will sell it! I was going to put it in friends car that I put my old engine into but he owes me so much money and I am over it. Slap a price down and location. To the other guys HP not sure yet. Will dyno it soon! As for g,k,5,7 not sure it was out of a 95 WRX air to air intercooler black. Forgot what it was, mike shields told me but forgot the second after (i think G or K). If you give me description of all those I will tell you which one. It is not STI, I wanted more low end and turbo to kick in earlier. One thing I hate is it tops out at 120 (ECU shut off). I will fix that though eheheh!

well that TD05 spools much slower then the turbos on some STi's. The vf28 in my ver 6 spools very fast but flows less then the tdo5. The td05 is more a big power top end turbo. I got my speed delimiter from Taichih in a group buy for a very good deal. maybe drop him an email. Did you do the swap yourself?

I just guessing since you have your st rs guages you used the wrx guage pod right? I would like to know how you wired it all in. If you completely removed the rs and installed the wrx harness or just cut and spliced?
I will be doing this to my legacy as soon as i get the wirriering delima figured out!
Thanks

well for JDM to work you just need to splice in power continous and power ON. also ground it that is it. And I have both clusters right now trying to get US diagnostics to work. One problem you may encounter is alternator. I will explain if you would like just let me know.

The alternator gets a signal from your cluster to turn on. Very low signal. And if you change clusters you have to wire that in which is hard cause to make it work you have to have every circut active on cluster. I spliced in a different wire to alternator which could shorten the life of it but it is all I can do at this time. I used AC ON wire it is located right nere the AC. It is the middle wire of the three. I don't have AC so I am able to do this others have to find another wire or trace the cluster wire and build some kind or fuse or resister for it. If you give it to high of a signal it just will put your alternator on high charge mode all the time and could burn it out earlier. No biggy if you find a place that will replace burnt out ones for free up to 4 times within a year like me. If you need any more info let me know this is small bit of it.

Dang, you're making me not want to do this swap all of a sudden! Didn't even know there was such a thing as a wire from the tach to the alternator.
Oh well, guess i'll just install the complete wrx harness.

OH HELL!! so many more problems then what I just said. I thought I had it figured out. Man oh man where to start. I told you I spliced AC wire right well ****. It made a HUGE short and made my fuel pump click off and on and pressure regulator go funky. It was messing with my electrical BIG time. Basically I have to ground the alternator and give it power ON. Stay tuned on how I do this. Peace for now.

ahah time wow a lot. If you have someone like me who has done it before it will be piece of cake. But first time long time! Money all depends on your connections and how much of the work you do yourself.
