Default Any updates on Subaru hitch Sti compatibility?

I know there was a thread on the use of a drawtite hitch which seemed to work.. I've been holding out for anyone who has fit the subaru hitch (meant for the wagon) on the Sti.

Main use is for a bike rack to keep those racks off the roof....

Biggest concern is leaving space for something like the TurboXS RFL turbo back exhaust, the drawtite goes straigh across the exhaust area, no loop leaving no extra space....

I have my Subaru hitch sitting in the side shed... I'm hoping to put it on before I install the Blitz Nur Spec Touring exhaust that's sitting next to it. The Subaru hitch has a curve in it for the muffler, but I think I might have to bend the hangers on the Blitz muffler a bit for clearance. I'll let you know, once I find time to install it...

I have a draw-tite hitch installed on my STi. they had to take off one of the hangers for the muffler, and it was a tight fit. you probably get maybe 1/4 inch of clearance with the bend in the hitch. Obviously this is only the 1 1/4" hitch, not the 2"... The guy in the garage said they could bend the hitch a little to get it some more clearance.

I am starting to get a rattling back there, and I have to check it out to see if it is the muffler hitting the hitch or not...

dunno if the turboXS exhaust would be blocked by the hitch.

Yeah, if you have the money - get a Subaru hitch for the Wagon model - it will have the best clearance. I have Draw-Tite hitch - and its a well known broblem - they are badly designed for WRX. The problem is that on the left side the vertical braket is so low - you can't simply use the stock exhaust hanger anymore - on the other hand if you attached it to the bolt that comes with the hitch - your exhaust will be tilted to the left.... My solution was to use stock hitch bracket/hanger with the hitch but put several washers to lower it enough to clear the hitch , but low enough so that exhaust arm won't hit hitch on bumps. Plus I believe Subaru hitch will have enough clearance for Sti exhaust - on mine it's already very close to stock WRX mufler.
