Default sadness

I was putting on my locking lug nuts tonight and on the last wheel and the last lugnut the wrench slipped and I fell forward and my shoulder hit the right front quarter panel and left a huge 1 foot long dent in it. The sheet metal on this thing is made of rice paper! I got most of the dent out but in the right light you can still see a wavyness to the paint and there is a certain uneveness too it (ie I didn't get the dent all the way out).

After contemplating suicide I called the parts department and a replacement panel is $160 without paint. I can't decide if I should just replace it or take it to a specialty shop and have them try to fix it. I'll post pics on monday.

Just a warning the car dents reall easy( that or I am one super rock hard body----on second thought that must be it )

one totally dejected dude

It sounds like a perfect candidate for paintless dent removal.

It's just bowed in, not creased, right?

Burke -

Scott is right about the paintless dent repair. I have had several small dents removed using this method and was completely satisfied. You couldn't even tell there was a dent there. It is fairly reasonable too. I think I paid $65 for my last door ding.

Waoh, that sucks.

I'm about to put locking lug nuts on also. I'll be careful now. Thanks for looking out.

Definitely paintless dent removal is the way to go! Look for shop names such as Dent Wizard, Dent Busters, Dent Magic. They charge between $50-80 for dings, and $100-150 for large dents. I had a baseball size dent removed recently, no sign of damage at all.

Yes! The sheet metal is very light. Even when I wash my car, the sheet metal can easily be pushed in if you are not careful. Oh well, that is one of the things that makes the car FAST as hell.
